What Is The Value Of Free Gifts Today?
What Is The Value Of Free Gifts Today?
Nowadays, even you are giving free gifts to ask people to opt-in to your list can be a bit tough. The reason it that there are too many free stuff you can find on the internet by searching on google.
So how can you use free gift effectively?
Here are the two solutions I had for you…
The first solution is by raising the value of the free gifts
The way you raise a value of a free gift is by puting a value of free gift that you are giving away. If you are giving away an ebook, put the value of the ebook that you are giving away. Example : “Received a $47 ebook When You Opt-In To My List! For A Limited Time Only!”
The second solution is by not giving free gift:
You see, recently I created a new product called 7 Dollar Killer Templates. Initiately I thought of create one of the templates as a free gifts for visitors that visit my site but I realize that when it is a free gift, people do not cherish because human psychology had a habit of viewing free stuff as low value and will not act on the information given to them.
So I decided why not instead of creating one templates, I create 3 and sell it at $7 where any people can afford. The reason I did this is because when someone paid for a product, he is more likely to value it and act on it and at the same time I get paid to build my list. Yes I really build a more quality and bigger list using this method.
Isn’t it a win-win situation?
So is giving a free gift still effective today?
Let me hear from your experience by leaving your comment below.

Hi John,
I am also facing the same problem as you have mentioned. I have put together complied a list of tips to help people to lower down their costs of AdWords campaigns, yet not many have optin to get it for free.
Hence, I am also thinking of making people pay for it, since most of the people feel that free stuffs aren’t good stuffs.
So I guess those who are still able to get it for free are just simply lucky.

Hi John,
I have created one free report at http://www.beatingadwordscourse.com to help people to understand Google AdWords. but I have the same experience with you unfortunately.
I think a free gift is still effective in helping you to create a list, but not a responsive one.
It might be better if we can try to repackage the free gift and sell it at a nominal cost at $7. This will get the people who download the gifts to raise their hands first and cherish the content in it.

Hi John,
You’re so cool, man! Thanks for the sharing.
Agree with you, most people just download the free stuff and never go to apply it. ( just like me )
BUT if the stuff is really interested me, then I will very take care of it even it’s a free stuff.
Actually there are too many free stuff on the internet today, so people cannot concentrate to every free stuff, and just pick some, but most are the paid product.

Hi John,
My problem is diffeent from the others in that I have a lot of programs mostly free but dont know how to get them on my website,so its not a question of price well it is realy because I dont have the mone to put into buying programs.
Do I value the free gifts?yes I do but dont know how to use them.
If you look at my website you will see adsence and popups on site whichI have managed to get on there.
There is so much more I could do but the information to show me how is so complex it would take me forever to learn.
The idear of the template is a good one but you need to have clear easy steps on how to use them.
regards David
Hi David,
Yes I will write more on how I use my templates as a lead generating tools. I just want to encourage you that just focus on a system and work on it instead of reading too many stuff or else you will be information overloaded.
Come back often to his blog while I will keep on providing valuable information here.
Hope you enjoy.

Hi John,
My problem is that I’ve never attempted to offer something for free, but now thinking about it. A little research I did on this thing revealed that free stuff attracts attention to a fair extent but no credit (in terms of appreciation and of course money as well) stands with that attraction, so a fair better way is to “highligh” the “value” of gift when you’re making such offer. Well, this is what I’ve figured out, and probability of variation is still there with the changing situations.
Regards,
Yes you are right man, now offer a gift may not attract people to opt in. What we need now is a high value gift.
